Our History and Vision
A Brief History of Testronics
Testronics began on April Fools Day in 1982. (You need a sense of humor to start a company.) It began with 6 employees and the first product was a Discrete Semiconductor Tester, which had been designed by two of the founders. Before the first year was finished the groundwork was laid for a multiple product company and plans were implemented to introduce Board Test products.
In subsequent years Testronics introduced large Bare Board Testers and later on Loaded Board Testers. It also formed a new company called Robotronics to make mechanical handling products. In 1997 Testronics spun out the Discrete Semiconductor Tester into a separate company and finally phased out the semiconductor handler business. Since 1998 Testronics has set a course to focus on the Electronic Board Manufacturing Industry. In that connection the assets and technology of a Loaded Board Vision Inspection company were purchased in 1998.
Testronics Today
Testronics is a company dedicated to ATE for the Electronic Board Manufacturing and Assembly Industry. We provide products for Optical Inspection and Electrical Testing to maximize our customer effectiveness by selling products and services providing turnkey solutions to board manufacturing problems. In the years since our founding we have established a reputation for close working relationships with our customers to develop specific solutions to production problems. We sell and support our products and services with world wide offices. Our revenue has been growing each year. Our product line is expanding. Our customer base is increasing.
